23 College Scrapbook Ideas You Must Try

To see an entire flip through of my entire college scrapbook album watch this video on my YouTube channel:

It is a smart idea to start a college scrapbook to reminisce on these crazy four years. When I first got to campus all I heard from the upperclassmen were how fast these four years would go by. Barely into my first week of classes I thought “Yeah right.” but they were absolutely right. During those four years of college I had many ups and downs, made new friends, and tried new things I will never forget.

On graduation day, looking back at old pictures of my time at school I realized how precious those moments are and also just how important it is for me to preserve them. I created my college graduation scrapbook so I can remanence on this unique time in my life. Also, I am sharing this in hopes to inspire others to make one as well.

Fun College Scrapbook Layout Ideas

1. College Scrapbook Pages – Moving Day

College Scrapbook

Supplies:

The day our parents have been preparing for since we were little – sending us off to college. It is an exciting time, yet stressful. Everyone is moving around so quickly that the entire day goes by in a blur. Once your dorm is all set up your family will say goodbye and want to snap some final pictures – scrapbook it!

This is the beginning of your college experience, and the first page in your college photo album. I am so happy I have this picture to look back on. Seeing myself as a new Freshman to looking at myself now graduated, the differences both visible and not are incredible. I love seeing my old room setup, wall décor, and move in day outfit.

I took many of these pictures not thinking I would ever be creating scrapbook layouts for them. If I could go back I would tell myself to take more pictures of the room details, dorm hall, and little things like the lounge where I did my homework just so I can always remember. If you are currently in college my advise to you would be to take pictures of everything for your college scrapbook pages.

2. Sorority Scrapbook Layouts

Supplies:

Joining a sorority played a huge part in my college experience. I made a lot of friends and had many experiences I would not have had otherwise. There are quite a few sorority scrapbook layouts in my album that share my time there. Specifically, there are layouts pertaining to bid day, socials, philanthropy events, and date parties. These events provided great opportunities to dress up in costumes and take lots of pictures.

3. Decorate With College Scrapbook Stickers & Mementos

College Scrapbook Stickers

Make your scrapbook layouts as personalized as you possibly can. Your paper, ephemera pieces, and stickers help in telling as much of your story as your photographs do. In this layout I used custom college stickers of our mascot. Looking back at the layouts I created I love seeing the small details that bring some school spirit.

Picking out the scrapbooking supplies is the most fun. When planning your album pick out your specific college scrapbook paper, stickers, and fun pieces. Also, If you are currently in school make sure you keep the little mementos like a receipt from your favorite local breakfast place, or a sporting event ticket. These items will be awesome to look back on and bring that extra special feeling whenever you open your scrapbook in the future.

4. Funny College Scrapbook Titles

Supplies:

By the time you graduate you will have taken so many pictures it may be hard to decide which photographs you want to scrapbook. My advice is to make a list of your most cherished memories and funny stories. Your scrapbook layouts do not just have to be about the big, glamorous events like move in day or graduation. You can make a layout about a funny story of when you were hanging out with your friends or simply studying.

This is one of my favorite layouts to look back on because of the story behind it. While on the way to a sorority formal, our bus got lost in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception. We were so late that we missed the entire party. It was a mess at the time, however, looking back now it is a great story to tell people. Definitely not a pretty or special event but I loved scrapbooking this story to share with others.

5. Life at College Scrapbook Layout Ideas

College Scrapbook Titles

After finishing all my college scrapbook layouts there are a few things I would have done differently if I could go back. I created so many layouts about the fun times at college which is great. However, I wish I would have documented more of my daily routine. Such as going to classes, the library, dining hall meals, dorm life.. all the things I did on a day to day basis. Oftentimes, we do not think about taking pictures of our mundane tasks but these are the things that we will want to remember most when looking back at our time in school.

This is one layout I created about my favorite coffee shop where I sometimes went to do homework. Looking back this is one of my favorite layouts in my entire album. If possible, take as many photos as you can of your daily life and classes. I recommend snapping a picture of your go-to study spot, favorite dining hall food, or even just the behind the scenes of living in a dorm. A couple of years after graduation it is easy to forget the small details. But this will ensure you remember every last thing!

There are a couple of events that I believe are a must-have to include in your college scrapbook and your twenty first birthday is definitely one of them! Turning 21 is a huge milestone that you have probably been looking forward to for years. There is nothing like turning 21 in college surrounded by all your closest friends. Here is the 21 birthday layout I created for my college scrapbook album. It is so special to be able to see all of my friends on the night I will never forget.

7. College Campus

Another essential topic to include in your college scrapbook pages are photographs of your college campus! Every campus is different and they all have unique histories behind the town. My college town in particular was very old and everything was made of bricks. I made this layout to document our senior year house with two of my roommates. Whatever it is that makes your college town special be sure to document every piece of it. It will be interesting to look back at your pictures years from now and recognize changes in the landscape and the buildings.

8. Collage Throughout the Year

If you find yourself with a ton of random photos that do not fit into any one category or layout theme try making a collage. I loved making these general scrapbook collages for each grade year or semester. It gives a great overview of the year and it is so fun looking at all the photographs. Not only was this super easy to make, but it is a great way to divide your college scrapbook by grade level. This layout highlights a few of my favorite memories from my sophomore year. Including dates, visiting a farm, and hangouts with my friends.

9. College Graduation Scrapbook Layout Ideas

The day you never thought would happen is finally here. It’s Graduation Day! Those college graduation pictures you took should all go straight into your college scrapbook album. This was my final hoorah with my friends at school and now the last pages in my album

I am not sure what is more fun, taking the pictures or scrapbooking them. These two college graduation scrapbook layouts are my absolute favorites. In this first scrapbook layout I printed out a 10 by 6 inch photograph and cut out the word “graduated” in gold lettering. I love how simple it is, yet it doesn’t take away from the story behind the photo at all. After graduating in 2020 during Covid I did not get an official graduation ceremony so these pictures all mean a lot. I went around to all of my favorite spots around campus and had a small photoshoot in front of them.

How To Make A Scrapbook For Graduation?

Making a custom colleges scrapbook does not have to be hard. In fact, it is easy to put together once you get all of your supplies ready. College book-stores may carry custom stickers with the schools name and logos. Any way you can add unique elements is great!

Next, you will need an album, page protectors, photos, and adhesive. These will ensure your page layouts stay safe and secure. Making a scrapbook for graduation is a great grad gift.
