Creative December Daily Album Layouts
1. Glitter And Sequin Pocket Page
Supplies:
One of the must-haves in any December daily album is a reason why page. A December daily reason why page is a dedicated space to share your unique ‘why’! Here you can include why this month is so special to you and why will this December daily album matter to you in the future?
For December Daily 2020 I typed my reason why on white cardstock and glued it on a sheet of lightly patterned paper. While that itself would have done the job, I wanted to make it more festive. Next, I grabbed a full size 6×8 page protector and some sequins to make a sequin shaker pocket. These gold and green sequins were perfect for this and I also added some glitter to make it sparkle like snow. Finally, to seal the page protector I used the We R Memory Keepers fuse tool to ensure no glitter fell out.
2. December Favorites
If you have a free day that you are not sure what to share, a December favorites list can be an excellent idea. This prompt is so much fun and can really share a lot about yourself and what your interests are. In this example, I used only stickers because I did not have any photos on hand. However, if you are someone who takes pictures of anything that looks pleasing this is a great layout to share those in.
From hot chocolate and fuzzy socks, to decorating the Christmas tree, there are so many exciting things to enjoy this month.

3. Gift Wish List
Either include your personal Christmas wish list or a list of gifts that you plan on giving to others. This is one of my favorite prompts because of how personal it is. Each year, your wish list changes. And what you ask for one year can say a lot about who you are as a person and what hobbies you enjoy. I would love to go back and find an old Christmas list from my childhood and see all the toys that were trendy.
A fun way to include your wish list is having it hidden behind double sided flaps. Especially if you include gifts you are buying for other people you won’t want it to be as visible. I wrote “no peeking” for a fun title.
4. Chipboard Frames
Supplies:
A simple, quick way to add a bit detail to your layouts effortlessly are chipboard frames. Chipboard frames come in a variety of sizes and are uniquely decorated. My favorite part is how little decorating you will need to do on the page in addition to the frames.
Most December daily albums are no larger than 8×8 inches. You can see here how much space the chipboard frame takes up. The only thing left to add were a bit of snowflake embellishments.
5. The 12 Days Of Remix
This layout was such a fun one! It all started in 2020. The holidays were a bit different that year, as I am sure you remember. I came across a hilarious remix on the 12 days of Christmas on social media and had to find a way to incorporate it in one of my pages.
Although the year 2020 was way different than any other, this idea could be used in our present world. Get creative and think of ways this year is unique compared to the last. Hopefully, your year does not beat 2020 as the craziest.
6. December Daily Cut Files
Scrapbooking cut files are one of my favorite ways to decorate a December daily album. On this layout I was able to document my family and I watching our favorite classic Christmas movies in such a fun and remarkable way.
Etsy is my go-to place to grab unique cut files. I used this Christmas classics cut file to document the best Christmas movies. Pro tip: If there is something special you are trying to scrapbook and cant find the right decorative paper, use cut files for the background instead.

7. Reuse Christmas Gift Tags
I jump at any chance I get to use interactive elements in my mini albums. For this layout I used some DIY Christmas gift tags and wrote small messages on the back. I sewed on a pocket to place the tags in and added adorable Christmas ephemera pieces to decorate.
Furthermore, this is a great idea if you plan on recycling any leftover gift tags and/ or wrapping paper. Reusing the gift tags is a great keepsake and you could also use any leftover wrapping paper to decorate the background.
8. Nostalgic Pictures and Pieces
These mini Christmas envelopes are not only adorable but can also hold many precious memories. A huge reason I love creating a December daily album each year is because I can document all the little moments that make the holidays special.
After I went Christmas shopping I kept a receipt from a gift I bought for my sister. While this may seem silly now, I know when I’m much older I will love seeing exactly what I bought. It’s like bringing a bit of the past with you into to the future. Additionally, these mini envelopes also hold Instax polaroid’s of that week.
9. December Daily Supplies
Scrapbook paper and stickers aren’t the only supplies you should be using in your Christmas mini albums. One of my favorite pieces in my December Daily 2020 album is this Santa Claus embroidery paper clip! I mean.. how cute is that with a mask for 2020!?
This Santa Claus added a special design element to my photos that makes it stand out even more. Although 2020 is well behind us, I will always think of the craziness when I see this paperclip. It articulates that holiday season so perfectly as it is so different than any other year.
10. Flip-Up Cards
Pop-up cards are a great way to add dimension to any page. I love using this technique to fit multiple photographs on a single layout. By just folding a piece of paper in half you have your own flip-up. It is that easy and can add a whole lot more interest to a page.
Another great thing about pop-up elements is to use them if you are trying to hide a certain thing. Perhaps you want to add some journaling but your handwriting is not the greatest. This is an excellent way to include your writing without it being the first thing you see.
11. Customized Album Keychain
Now that you have gathered ideas for the inside pages, here is a cute accessory for the outside. The look of themed keychains give an album such a fun and finished appeal. When your album is on your bookshelf the spine is the only part visible. Therefore, the keychains bring such a spark of creativity that you can see even when your album is stored away.
12. December Daily Kits
Lastly, before you start crafting you’ll want to plan out what supplies you will need. One of my favorite parts of planning my December daily album is picking out a December daily kit! This Ali Edwards December daily kit has all the essentials and I loved the muted tones of red and green.
A great piece of advice if you desire a more “aesthetic” mini album is to use pieces and embellishments from the same collection. Narrowing your supplies down to only one collection kit will give you a more correlating look. You can come up with a fun theme such as vintage Christmas and really stick with it. On the other hand, it is always exciting not to hold yourself back by using only a single collection. Play with different kits and use up old supplies in your drawers. Each page can be as different or correlated as you would like!
