What Do You Put In A Pittsburgh Scrapbook?
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is full of iconic landmarks such as the Carnegie museum, Duquesne incline, Primanti brothers, and so much more. Your scrapbook should document the highlights of your travels.
Make sure to keep postcards, tickets, receipts, paper menus, and itineraries from your activities. During my visit, I gathered museum tickets and day passes to use as ephemera. Here are some examples below.
Peace, Love, And Donuts – A Staple In Pennsylvania Scrapbook
Food is oftentimes a way we characterize a city. Especially in a city like Pittsburgh where food plays a huge part in their history and culture.
Iconic eats such as the Primanti Brother’s sandwhich, pierogies, and donuts were a few of the delicious foods we got to try. I particularly was fascinated by the delectable donut shoppe named “Peace, Love, & Donuts” located at the strip district.
This was the first time I got to fully customize a donut! Definitely a moment to scrapbook for sure. If you find yourself in the heart of Pittsburgh make sure to stop by some of the local eateries and snap a few photos.
The Carnegie Museum Of Natural History
The Carnegie museum of natural history is a must-see if you find yourself in Pittsburgh.
During your visit you can find dinosaurs, mummies, plants, crystals, and even more extinct species. Each exhibit feels like you are entering another world. I learned so much during our tour.
In my Pittsburgh scrapbook I included photos of dinosaur bones that were on display. The pictures do not do it justice with how massive and complex the displays actually are.
The Carnegie Art Museum
Our next stop after touring the history museum was the Carnegie art museum. I can honestly say I have not seen architecture quite as intricate and beautiful as the one shown here.
The art museum was filled with authentic paintings by Van Gogh, Gauguin and other reputable artists.
Pittsburgh Scrapbook Ideas
Our hotel was right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The views from our window were absolutely incredible. We were only a few blocks away from where the Pittsburgh Steelers play.
When you are creating your travel scrapbook, be sure to include a page that documents your hotel views. Even the architecture from the outside may be worth scrapbooking.
This is a great way to log where you have stayed and what you liked about each place. When you look back at your scrapbook in 20 plus years you can see how the city may have changed.
Pittsburgh Skyline Picture Scrapbook Ideas
There is nothing I love more than city skylines at night. I thought the views of the bridge over the water was simply stunning.
It is landmarks such as this that make a place so special! This was a simple page I created for my Pittsburgh scrapbook using only stickers and ephemera.
A tip if you plan on recreating your own scrapbooking pages is to include as many photos of the landscape that you can fit. This is also where you can add in keepsakes such as tickets or receipts.

Although the Scrapbook Super Station Boutique is located approximately 25 minutes outside of downtown Pittsburgh, Pa, it is absolutely worth the stop.
Think of a store that is lined with hundreds of patterned paper and has every scrapbooking tool you can think of. Scrapbook Super Station is the dream destination and one-stop-shop for all your scrapbooking needs.
Crafts-n-Scraps Studio
Located right in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this craft store offers a unique product offering. Here you can find scrapbooking weekend retreats and card making classes. Along with other craft tutorials such as wreath making.

What Is Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Known For?
Pittsburgh has been referred to as the steel city since the gilded age. Primarily due to the influence of industrialists such as Andrew Carnegie. From the steel industry came along the construction of over 446 bridges which Pittsburgh is well known for (Source: Pittsburgh History).
Even though Pittsburgh has evolved over the years, you can still feel the influence from the history of the steel industry. From the original food dishes such as the primanti sandwich, to the world-class architecture. These things together all define the city which we call Pittsburgh.
How Much Does It Cost To Make A Scrapbook?
To make a scrapbook you do not have to spend much money. Depending on the amount of paper and ephemera the cost of a scrapbook can vary. I recommend you check out this post which breaks down the low and high end costs of scrapbooking.
For ways to save money on scrapbooking, find ways to reuse materials around your house. As I mentioned earlier, tickers, receipts, postcards, and maps all make great decorations for a layout. Think outside the box and find ways to be creative with what you have on hand.
